Good News

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor….”

Isaiah 61:1-4.

Good News Community Center (GNCC) is a Christ centered non- profit organization that seeks to bring transformation in Kenyan communities through a threefold approach of practical outreach, evangelism and discipleship. I was introduced to GNCC in 2006 during my 6 months stay in Kenya. James and Vangie Odongo the directors of GNCC and have been called to start this ministry to help bring sustainability to widows, orphans and their families.

I will be joining GNCC full-time and serving with the children and youth ministries.  GNCC has a vision to start a children’s village that will serve as an Orphanage/boarding school for orphans in the village who don’t have caregivers or finances to attend school.  Fred has served with GNCC since 2007, as an Associate Pastor, reaching out to youth and is a translator for all mission teams that come from different countries.

Good News has several different ministries and projects, many that focus on sustainability and vocational training for the widows in the village.  GNCC also has two church fellowships in Kisumu that reaches and disciples hundreds of Kenyans. GNCC has an orphan sponsorship program, sewing business and school and many opportunities for mission teams to come and serve with them. For more information, please visit

I am honored to use my gifts and talents to help reach and love the children and youth in Kenya with GNCC. I am proud to be a part of an organization that strives to reach the community practically and with the love of Jesus.
